The Arts at CSL, in coordination with the Youth Center at the Center for Spiritual Living, is pleased to introduce a new artistic opportunity designed especially for young people. The Kids Take the Stage Summer Theatre Workshop is a two-week immersive program that invites children ages 8 to 17 to explore the magic of live musical theatre and the performing arts.

Featuring a Fully Staged Production of The Lion King, Jr.
The Arts at CSL has secured the rights to present Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. in a fully staged production on the main stage at the Center for Spiritual Living, located at 4849 N. Dixie Highway, Oakland Park.

This experience will culminate in two live performances, including an opening night on Friday and a Saturday matinee, giving families, friends, and the community the opportunity to celebrate the work and creativity of our young performers.

Workshop Overview:

  • Over the course of two weeks, participants will:
  • Build confidence, emotional expression, and stage presence
  • Develop social skills and a sense of community
  • Explore their individuality and creative voice
  • Learn to focus energy toward shared artistic goals
  • Sing, dance, and act in scenes from The Lion King, Jr.
  • Play theatre games inspired by Viola Spolin
  • Participate in creating costumes, props, and scenic elements
