A real stage you can rent in Broward County

Most event spaces give you a flat floor and a portable speaker. That doesn’t work for a spring recital, a two-act play or a concert where the back row needs to hear every lyric. Performers need a raised stage, the audience needs proper sightlines, and someone needs to run the board.

The Main Auditorium was built for exactly that kind of program. Rows of seating face the stage, a professional sound and video booth runs the show, and the room holds up to 275 people. That size is the sweet spot for many groups in Broward: big enough for a full house of families and friends, small enough that the room still feels full and the performers can see faces.

It’s also one of several rooms under one roof. You can rent the auditorium on its own, or rent the full event venue and add the Multipurpose Room and Lobby for warm-ups, costume changes, ticketing and intermission.

Proven by our own productions

We don’t just rent the stage. We use it. Through the Arts at CSL, the Center stages its own musicals and concerts in the Main Auditorium, with casts, musicians, rehearsals and audiences moving through the same rooms you’d rent.

That matters when you’re planning a show. When you walk through with Jim Wood, you’re talking to people who have run sound checks and full performances in this room. If you’d like a feel for how the room plays, check what’s coming up on our calendar and come see a performance.

Need the stage dimensions, power details or lighting specifics for a tech rider? Ask Jim Wood for the technical specs. He’ll get you accurate answers for your production rather than a guess.

Planning tip: Book your rehearsal time in the room when you book the performance date. A cue-to-cue run on the actual stage, with the Center technician in the booth, catches problems that a studio rehearsal never will, from mic handoffs to video timing.

Recitals, theater companies and concerts

The auditorium suits any group that needs an audience in seats and a performer on a stage. Here’s how different groups use it.

Dance and music recitals

A dance recital venue has to handle a lot at once: a run of short numbers, music cues, quick changes and a house full of parents with phones up. Studios can run music and video from the booth, use the Multipurpose Room as a holding area for each class, and send families to the Lobby before and after the show. Music teachers holding a piano or voice recital get the same setup on a smaller scale, with seating for up to 275 and sound that carries without shouting.

Community theater companies

Small theater companies often have the talent and the script but no permanent home. Renting a theater for a short run gives you a real stage, rows of seats and a booth without signing on for a season. The Lobby works as your box office and concession table, and the Multipurpose Room gives the cast a place to gather away from the audience.

Tribute and community concerts

Tribute bands, community choirs, school ensembles and benefit concerts all need the same basics: a stage, a sound system someone knows how to run, and parking. With a Center technician on the board and streaming from the booth, you can also share the concert with people who can’t make it in person.

Comedy nights and open mics

Comedy and open mic nights work best in a room that feels full. You can set the auditorium in rows for a showcase or, for a more casual night, add the round tables from the venue’s furniture inventory for a cabaret-style feel. The Director of Operations will walk you through policies for your event, including anything related to refreshments.

Also available for rehearsals and shoots

Not every booking needs an audience. The Main Auditorium can be rented as rehearsal space for a cast getting ready for a show elsewhere, or as audition space where directors sit in the house and performers take the stage one by one. The Multipurpose Room makes a practical sign-in and waiting area for auditions, with a whiteboard for schedules and callbacks.

Film, photo and video crews can book the room as a shoot location too. The stage, the rows of seating and the booth give you a working theater look for a music video, a short film, a headshot session or a recorded talk. Tell Jim about your crew size, gear and shoot schedule when you inquire.
